Started the day at Chorazin. There we saw the ruins of a typical Galilean village and Jewish religion.
We then visited the Mount of the Beatitudes site of the Sermon on the Mount. Here we saw a Catholic Church where the Catholics bought the land and built the church where they believe to be this site. Scripture is found in Matthew 5. Jesus gives instructions as to how people are suppose to live and consider the kingdom of God in his teachings.
He gives his common command to remember what Jesus did for all. Joel 1:3 says “Tell he your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation”
Next stop was Capernaum where Jesus did many of his miracles and the town he lived during most of his ministry. Jesus fed the 5000 found in Mark 6:30 and also when the disciples are in a boat on the sea and are distressed do to high winds. Jesus comes to them walking on the water. In John 21 Jesus appears to the disciples after his resurrection.
We then took a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. We sang and danced to Hava Nageela. We also sang our National Anthem and some sang the Mexico National Anthem. A nice ride on the Sea of Galilee. They also did a demonstration on throwing a net over for fishing.
Next we visited a boat that was found that may be or a boat similar to what they used in Jesus day. It is identified as a First Century boat. The boat was discovered by Mosha and Yuval Lufan second generation fisherman from Kibbutz Ginosar. Found in 1986 and in a museum in Tiberias.
What another exciting day of following the footsteps of Jesus.
